From Risa and Yasu.

We had one of the best breakfast in this year this morning. We cooked Irish steel cut oatmeal with this recipe, baked a few cinnamon buns, and brewed coffee which was roasted just yesterday! While we are enjoying our sweet breakfast, Yasu’s sourdough bread for tonight’s supper was in oven!

We received our December coffee subscription from Square Mile yesterday. Together with our new beans, Finca Bourbon, from Guatemala, they have sent us a bag of dried coffee fruits. We didn’t know you can make tea with the fruit, so we had to try! Here is a shots of our brew. It tastes quite light – a little similar to rooibos or honey bush tea…? Apparently it’s full of caffeine though!

Here’s what we’ve been up to:
1) Cooked/ate Radicchio di Treviso for the first time
2) Acquired a new little hairy one to our Cacti collection
3) Baked spelt-oat-coconut biscuits

With a surprisingly nice and warm weather, we went for a walk between Faversham and Whitstable. We loamed through a boat yard (really interesting!) and short cut right through the field before we hit the sea wall with thousands of sea birds. See more images.
